Hollywood Bowl Opening Night
The Opening Night concert at the Hollywood Bowl is a defining moment of the start of summer in LA. Over 100 years of history at the iconic venue attracts popular headliners and lots of guests to help fundraise for the LA Philharmonic and its community programs. The task was to interpret the seasonal graphics into an exciting invitation package intended to sell tickets. The iconic bowl shape inspired the flat graphics backing a cut out of that year’s performer, John Legend. We used a unique diecut that allowed us to fold a single sheet of paper into a 4-page booklet with two different sized pages.

The invitation package included a custom envelope, invitation, reply card and reply envelope.

A custom diecut created dimension around John Legend’s silhouette and created the unique invitation structure out of a single sheet of paper, keeping production costs down.

Diecuts in the back page held the reply materials, making for a single cohesive package.

The graphics we developed were extended to other applications such as screens at the event location.
